Dell XPS 15 9500 – Overview

The Dell XPS 15 9500 is simply the most reliable 15-inch laptop in the market, and in plenty of ways, the best laptop of its generation. It is potent, stylish, and light enough to take everywhere.

In its aim to deliver quality outcomes to its consumer market, Dell even made several improvements from last year’s model, which include:

– The soft-touch finish (more resistant to fingerprints)
– Quad speakers: two top-firing, two underneath
– New fingerprint reader
– The trackpad is 62 percent larger
– 8 percent thinner to make the screen larger
– Shift from 4K OLED (Samsung) to 4K Sharp IGZO
– Keyboard keycaps that are 9.7 percent larger

One of the biggest changes Dell made on XPS 15 9500 is in the port options. Its last model comprised both USB Type-C and USB Type-A ports and a mixture of other selections, but this version has plenty of streamlining. Aside from the SD card slot and a headphone jack, the only physical connections on this XPS 15 are USB-C ports – with two on the left flank and another on the right. The two on the left incorporate Thunderbolt 3 and DisplayPort support, while the right-side port allows DisplayPort support.

Internal components are also updated with a configuration that includes 10th Generation Intel Core i7-10875H processor, 16GB of memory, a 512GB solid-state drive, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Ti GPU, and the 4K touch display. Its SSD execution is also unusually satisfactory, with a ~400MB per second enhancement from last year’s model in sequential read speeds (3,400 MB/s). Sequential write speeds are also satisfying at 2,800 MB per second. The XPS 15 9500 may not be the longest-lasting option than others, but eight hours of active use are still pretty long.

When it comes to design, Dell XPS 15 9500 is slimmer, lighter, has smaller bezels, and takes the speakers to the top of the device. It is 0.71 inches thick and weighs 4.5 lb – not the lightest laptop in the world, but with the kind of hardware that it has and a battery that endures as long as it does, it’s clearly more convenient than it has to be.
It is ideal for watching movies because of its VESA certified DisplayHDR 400 (better contrast). Its glossy UHD+ displays 0.65 percent anti-reflective, which is standard in high-end watches and even eyeglasses as they decrease light reflection accordingly without negatively altering color, contrast, or brightness. It has the optional 4K-resolution (3,840-by-2,400-pixel) touch panel, making the screen amazingly sharp and vivid. Photo and video editors will enjoy the screen’s color range support with 100% of Adobe RGB and 94%of DCI-P3.
